CVAP Week 3 Blog
The third week started with the typical Zoom-mustahan. I'm a little disappointed
because I am a bit busy in the past weeks because of work so I am always not
able to join the sessions on Zoom. Instead, I catch the live instead. The
morning sessions started with Miss Janeane Santon AKA The Golden Voice. She told
us about her journey on becoming a Voice Artist. It is very inspiring to see
that she had a whole different career before she joined CVAP. She had so many
insights on the world of Voice and it is just awe inspiring. It is now only
talent that makes you a good voice artist but also you have to put in the work
to practice and perfect your craft. So how to practice? She taught us that you
can practice anytime. Even just going around the house and just practicing Voice
over work for the different products you see. She also suggested doing voice
over challenges on Tiktok. There are just so many ways to practice. Another way
to practice was to do tongue twisters. We also discussed Voice Acting
Techniques: Having different voices for different characters. Another thing we
discussed was Voice care which I really need because I throw out my voice from
talking a lot. Tips on Voice Care 1. Drinks lots of water 2. Avoid Food and
Drinks that are harmful to your voice (e.g. sweets, coffee) 3. Voice Rest 4.
Proper Posture 5. Proper Breathing 6. Should not shout or whisper 7. Warm-up 8.
Salt Water Gargle 9. Avoid Pollutants (e.g. Smoke, pollen) 10. Consult Doctor
for Persistent Cough, Sore throat or other similar conditions In the afternoon
session, we had a new mentor which was The Voice Magic: Mr. Adsel Florendo. I
really like the part of the session with Sir Patrick. It was so nice to hear
from someone who is very talented with Voicing Characters.
